Hello, it’s me…I’ve thought about us for a long long time…

Cheesy (guilty pleasure) song lyrics aside, I know it’s been a while. The Stray Cats concert, to be exact. Well things have been a little crazy here in Honeysuckle Roads world, and due to my work schedule I’ve had little desire or time for very much outside of work except to eat dinner and catch Z’s. But in this new year of 2020 (the new Roaring ’20s?) writing-for-fun is calling me yet again.

I haven’t had as much time to document concerts, but I’ll post videos from the last two I saw, including Messer Chups at Hill Country BBQ in October. This song was perfect for the upcoming holiday season:

And here are the 5.6.7.8.’s from when I saw them in December when they opened for Reverend Horton Heat at the Black Cat for Horton’s Holiday Hayride (Voodoo Glow Skulls played that concert as well for all you ’90s kids). You may recall them playing in the Tarantino flick Kill Bill. I can’t possibly be “blue” hearing the following song, especially live!

While I’ve scaled back on my concert-going, I’m focusing more on playing music for fun in my freetime as well as working on some writing projects. One of such projects involves the makings of a mystery novel set here in Fairfax County, Virginia in the early 1960s. The story isn’t fully fleshed-out, but I can’t wait to share pictures of the places that inspired it…and maybe a video too…Stay tuned…
